How to Apply

CWF grant proposals are accepted only during scheduled application periods: we do not accept unsolicited proposals outside of this time.

Requests for proposals will be posted on the site and issued to organizations in our database on the following dates:

  • Violence Prevention Grants: 2009
  • Economic Development Grants: 2009
  • Girls’ Fund Grants: 2009

If your organization would like to receive a request for proposal, and you are not currently in our database, please send your request and full mailing address to info@canadianwomen.org.

You may also wish to bookmark this page and check back periodically. When we issue the next call for grant applications we will post details and application forms here.

We Do Not Fund

  • individuals
  • federal, provincial or municipal government agencies and school boards (they can be involved in a project but the grant will be made to a women’s organization directly)
  • profit-based organizations
  • fundraising events
  • projects outside of Canada
  • projects not solely or primarily focused on women and girls (although violence prevention projects for teens may involve both girls and boys)
  • deficit or emergency funding
  • conferences, films or videos
  • capital campaigns or expenditures such as furniture or computers
  • research
  • self-defense training (if it is the only component of a violence prevention project)
