Women’s CED Network Society/WEE Society, Women Unlimited
Halifax, Lunenburg and Queens Counties
2009-2014: $365,000 over five years

Women Unlimited helps unemployed or underemployed women of diverse backgrounds to prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment in the trades and technology sectors. The program provides a broad range of services including assessment, career exploration and decision-making, preparation for advanced training or apprenticeship, transition to employment and retention services (to ensure women are able to maintain their new careers and thrive in them).

Funding from CWF will enhance the program’s counselling and in-depth educational assessments, support childcare and transportation, and help fund job-related equipment, such as tools, safety supplies and clothing.

Approximately 325 women will be trained and linked to sustainable employment through this program over the next five years.

Women's CED Network/WEE Society, Halifax and Regions
2008: $25,000

The Women Unlimited Program will use funds to engage in a comprehensive program review of their women in trades and technology program and to build a five to seven year expansion plan to ensure the program’s continued success and viability and to allow it to expand to new sites across the province.
