The Rosemary Brown Fund
Rosemary Brown, one of CWF’s eight founding mothers, was a social activist, educator, politician, and author. She believed in justice for all people and she worked constantly to end violence and poverty. Her many accomplishments included being the first black woman to hold a seat in the Canadian legislature and serving as Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Her efforts inspired women across the country.
Rosemary passed away in May, 2003. She is missed by the CWF family and the many others whose lives she improved. To keep Rosemary’s vision alive, CWF has created a special fund in her memory.
